DrunkInjuns.org is technically not the Official Drunk Injuns Website but actually a fan site, however some people do consider it the Official website.
DrunkInjuns.org - History
In July of 2002 on a dare/whim I decided to build a website dedicated to the Drunk Injuns the idea came about after talking with a friend and thinking that we may be the last two people on earth that were still regularly listening to the old Thrasher Skate Rock tapes and more importantly the Drunk Injuns. I got to tell you we were way wrong, as soon as the website went live, I posted on the link on the SkullandBonesSkateboards.com forum. It instantly got traffic and amazingly people started to send in photos and information, then the members of Drunk Injuns starting contacting me and giving me lots of photos and information.
So what started as a single web page design grew fast and at the time I thought the design was good enough but it soon showed it’s lack of expandability, I modified the web design to cater to all of the new content. However the years passed by, people still visited but the web design was tired looking and beginning to look like an internet relic of the past. I have toyed with new designs but never felt solid on releasing the designs, but luckily along came some new open source technology that allowed anyone with a bit of technical skills to create dynamic, database driven & content managed systems. I have adopted the technology early on other websites, however designing a template on top of it takes time so I opted for template/theme that I could build around the content and redesign some of the graphical elements and style. The site you see is now is the adaption of that web technology and applied to the content of DrunkInjuns.org. Over time the site will get updated as information is available.
Well that is the story of the origins of DrunkInjuns.org and how our love of Skate Rock motivated me to create a website for people to enjoy and contribute to.
